Toddler

Our Toddler Program

Green Tree Montessori’s toddler program is designed for children ages eighteen to thirty-six months. The toddler environment is carefully prepared to meet the unique needs of this age group.  Our toddler room maintains a ratio of four children to one adult. Toddlers are wired to explore. Through the child’s direct experiences with choosing their own activities they develop concentration, coordination of movement, and self-awareness.

The teachers observe the children and use these observations to modify the environment meeting each child’s developmental needs. As the toddler grows in their abilities, they are naturally driven to independence.

So often we hear children proudly say, “I did it.”

The primary goal of our toddler program is to create a safe and nurturing  environment where young children can be happy to do what they do best: learn, grow and explore.

Our toddler classroom is a bright and welcoming space that features many windows for the children to look at nature any time of the day. All of the furniture is sized to meet the needs of the toddlers. The fixtures in the bathrooms are also specially sized for the toddler ages. This encourages independence in the toilet learning process. The environment features warm lighting when its cloudy and natural art to bring peace and comfort to the children.
