Preschool Community
Our preschool community is based on the belief that the child, environment, and adult interconnect to develop an ideal learning experience for 2 ½ to 6 years old. In the mixed-age classroom, younger children observe and learn from older children while the older children serve as role models, reinforcing their own learning through peer leadership. Multi-age groups are meant to model a familial structure instead of a traditional classroom. In this classroom, we maintain a ratio of ten children to one adult or less.

The certified Montessori adult acts as a guide and observer. The teacher develops the environment based on their observations of the child to ensure a relationship between the child and the environment. The Montessori environment encompasses a full set of Montessori designed materials.
The Montessori materials and activities are designed to support self-directed discovery and learning.
During our three hour work cycle, children are able to work independently, but also will receive individual, small, and whole group lessons.

We are proud of the beautiful aesthetics of our preschool classroom. Children are greeted with floor-to-ceiling windows offering an abundance of natural light. Our outdoor playground offers a park-like setting with plenty of shade and a natural wood playscape. Our goal of the primary program is for children to develop a confidence in themselves as a learner, which results in life -long learning. Being a life-long learner creates respect for themselves and for all people as they venture into the big world.
